Masters 2023: How to watch the Masters at Augusta National on television and streaming online

News

The immaculate fairways, the Azaleas, the roars. Year in and year out, the Masters provides unique yet familiar sights and sounds that golf fans of all persuasions—young or old, casual or avid—have come to treasure. This week, the 87th edition of the event promises all those Augusta National comforts and more—even for those unable to attend the event in person.

For those hungering for a Masters fix, there is of course the traditional TV broadcasts scheduled for ESPN and CBS. But don’t let the fact that there are only 18 hours of linear coverage get you down. Savvy golf viewers know there are multiple options to watch this year’s tournament, including the Masters revolutionary “Every Shot, Every Hole” technology that allows to see everything. This year’s version includes a new feature as IBM Watson will provide text and audio AI commentary for all 20,000-plus shots shown during the tournament.

Masters.com and ESPN+ also offer three additional “featured holes” channels: one from Amen Corner (11th, 12th and 13th holes); one for the 15th and 16th holes and one for the fourth, fifth and sixth holes. There will also be a separate channel for spotlight coverage of two featured groups from the morning and afternoon waves each day.

Prior to the start of its TV broadcasts on Thursday and Friday, ESPN is debuting a new two-hour lead in program, “Welcome to the Masters.”

And you don’t have to wait until Thursday’s first round to get a golf fix. The Par-3 Contest is once again set for Wednesday with coverage on Masters.com from 12 noon to 5 p.m. and on ESPN from 3-5 p.m.
